About the County Administrative Office

The County Administrative Office, under the leadership of Michelle Irizarry, functions as the operations arm of the Board of Commissioners and carries out its mission of delivering the highest quality of public services. We oversee 11 Departments with approximately 250 employees dedicated to finding better, more effective, ways to meet the needs of our residents.

The County Administrative Office administers the County’s budget that funds services in Fire Protection, Emergency Medical Services, Law Enforcement, E911, Public Works, Human Services, Libraries and Elections. Our office takes the lead in activities to improve the quality of life in Meriwether County including economic development, capital improvements, and tourism.
