Overview

The office’s responsibilities include:

  • Assisting elected officials and candidates in completing state ethics forms and maintaining them for public inspection
  • Conducting elections for federal, state, and local offices
  • Federal, state, and local redistricting
  • Maintaining U.S. Justice Department compliance and implementing federal and state legislation, Supreme Court Decisions, and Attorney General Opinions
  • Other functions include voter registration, voter education, and service to the community where we work and live

The diverse office staff consists of 1 full-time Elections Supervisor and a varying number of part-time staff to meet fluctuating work demands and polling place staffing.

NOTICE TO VOTERS

           The Meriwether County Board of Elections and Registration will conduct a mandatory risk limiting audit of the U S senate race in the December 6, 2022, General Runoff Election beginning Wednesday, December 14, 2022, at 10:00 am in the equipment Office of Elections and Registration located at 133 S. Court Square Greenville, GA 30222.

          The public and all interested parties are invited to attend. The audit shall be open to the view of the public and press, but no person except the person(s) designated by the election superintendent or the superintendent’s authorized deputy shall touch any ballot or ballot container. The election superintendent may designate a viewing area from which members of the public may observe the audit for the purpose of good order and maintaining the integrity of the audit. 


Advance Voting for the December 6, 2022, General Election Runoff will be held as follows:

Monday, November 28, 2022 – Friday, December 2, 2022, 8:30am-5:00pm

Advance Voting will take place at the Meriwether County board of elections and registration office located at 137 S. Court square Greenville, GA.  If additional information is needed, please contact the Meriwether County Board of Elections and Registration office at 706-672-9433.

NOTICE

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT THE MERIWETHER COUNTY BOARD OF ELECTIONS AND REGISTRATION WILL BEGIN PROCESSING ABSENTEE BALLOTS FOR THE DECEMBER 6, 2022, GENERAL AND SPECIAL ELECTION BEGINNING DECEMBER 6, 2022, AT 2:00PM IN THE BOARD OF ELECTIONS AND REGISTRATION OFFICE WHICH IS LOCATED AT 137 S. COURT SQUARE GREENVILLE, GA 30222.

Court Square Greenville, GA 30222.

The audit shall be open to the view of the public and press, but no person except the person(s) designated by the election superintendent or the superintendent’s authorized deputy shall touch any ballot or ballot container. ELECTIONS NOTICE

This is to serve as notice that the preparation and testing of the Electronic Poll Books, Electronic Ballot Markers, Printers, and Ballot Scanners to be used in the December 6, 2022, General Election Runoff will commence on Monday, November 21, 2022, and continue daily until complete. The preparation and testing will begin at 8:30 a.m.   The testing will take place at the Meriwether County Board of Elections Equipment office at 133 S. Court Square, Greenville, GA and The Meriwether County Board of Elections and Registration Office located at 137 S. Court Square, Greenville, GA.

Representatives of political parties and bodies, candidates, news media and the public are invited to observe the test.
