PROBATE COURT ANNOUNCEMENT REGARDING ISSUANCE OF WEAPONS CARRY LICENSES

Weapons Carry

The statewide Judicial Emergency ends May 14th, 2020, therefore the Probate Court of Meriwether County will be allowed to again process Weapons Carry License Applications and Renewals. If your permit expired during the pendency of the Judicial Emergency, then it was automatically renewed until May 13th, 2020. This means that you will have until June 12th at 4:00pm to renew your permit for $30.00. In order to comply with state mandated social distancing rules and to speed up and expedite the renewal of your expired permit, the Probate Court is allowing Weapons Carry Applications and Renewals by appointment ONLY. The Court has set up special appointment dates and times exclusively for renewals, in order to make sure you have plenty of opportunities to renew your permit within the 30 days. All Weapons Carry Licenses (both new and renewals) are by appointment only. No walk-in applications will be allowed.
