Welcome to Meriwether County, Georgia! Here we love our history and our future. The citizens of Meriwether are proud to have shared our beautiful land and soothing springs with President Franklin Roosevelt, who found inspiration and solace at the Little White House and at Warm Springs. We are equally proud to be bursting with opportunity because of our business-friendly attitude and central location between the metropolitan areas of Atlanta, Macon, and Columbus.
Meriwether County is located in west-central Georgia, where in prerecorded times the Native Americans used its paths for trading routes and its famous springs as a source of healing. With a modern-day population of approximately 21,000, we are big enough to have the resources and amenities you need, blended with small town values.
The government of Meriwether County welcomes you and invites you to explore our website for a comprehensive guide to our departments and services.
And keep up with government and community happenings and upcoming events posted on our What's Going On section and on our Facebook page!
